Alexandria Kennel Club, located in the central part of Louisiana, around the city of Alexandria, Louisiana. The Alexandria Kennel Club host one two day dog show the last weekend of January each year, held at the Rapides Parish Coliseum. The second annual "Mardi Gras Cluster" will be held on January 26-29, 2012 at the Rapides Parish Coliseum, in Alexandria, LA! This 4 day cluster will be held with the Baton Rouge Kennel Club. Here is the link to the judging program for all 4 days of dog shows: Click here for judging program The Alexandria Kennel Club will have an obedience match on Friday evening, Jan 27, and a conformation and obedience match on Saturday evening, Jan 28. We will have raffles going on with many nice prizes. On Saturday evening, 15 minutes after Best in Show, there will be a Chris Christensen Systems grooming seminar, open to everyone with no charge. They will be raffling a Kool Pup Dryer to one of the attendees. This year, the members, along with the club filling in on certain groups, will be giving monagrammed towels as Group prizes, the first time in many years. We will have the rings decorated in Mardi Gras theme! Obedience will be held in the Exhibition Hall, a separate building from the main coliseum. The obedience people love this setup. This is our first year for Rally! So please if you can, come out and support us. If it does not catch on, we will have to cut it.
